he session is held virtually or in person at 800 Commissioners Rd E, Victoria Hospital Building 25 - Health Care Research Studio, Room: J1-117.
The Research Bites seminar will be delivered by Dr. Kyla Naylor, titled, "Developing Quality Indicators in Kidney Transplantation."
Quality indicators in kidney transplantation are needed to identify care gaps and inequitable access, and to monitor improvement. Yet, few standardized indicators exist for kidney transplant. Development of a quality indicator in kidney transplant is nuanced with considerations for defining the cohort of interest, censoring event definitions, and statistical methodologies. Administrative healthcare databases contain the information needed to develop quality indicators. This presentation will focus on collaborative work done with knowledge users to develop quality indicators in kidney transplantation, including pre-emptive living donor kidney transplantation and referral to a transplant centre for an evaluation.
