The Research Bites seminar will be delivered by ICES Student Tresah Antaya, titled, "Association of Air and Noise Pollution with Unprovoked Seizures and New-Onset Epilepsy."

Tresah Antaya will be presenting her doctoral research, which investigates the potential association between outdoor ambient air and noise pollution and the risk of unprovoked seizures and new-onset epilepsy. The research consists of a systematic review and meta-analysis synthesizing the literature on this topic, and two nested case-control studies. The thesis aims to fill a critical gap in our understanding of how air and noise pollution might affect the risk of unprovoked seizures or contribute to the onset of epilepsy, potentially providing opportunities for prevention and improving the clinical care of patients with epilepsy.
