Jazz Girls Day® with Colleen Clark and Kevin Watson
Join us for Jazz Girls Day® at the Don Wright Faculty of Music with drummer Colleen Clark, Founder and Artistic Director of the University of South Carolina’s Jazz Girls Day®, and Kevin Watson, Associate Professor of Music Education and Artistic Director of the Western University Jazz Ensemble.
University of South Carolina's Jazz Girls Day® seeks to inspire more women to experience jazz education in a welcoming environment by inviting girls for a day filled with learning, playing, and performing. The mission of Jazz Girls Day® is not only to inspire elementary and high school girls to start or continue playing jazz but also to encourage music educators to foster greater female participation in jazz.
The program is intended for instrumentalists at all experience levels in Grades 6 through 12 who identify as female. Educators and accompanying adults are welcome as well!
Participation is free – including a pizza lunch – but pre-registration is required. Please visit our Jazz Girls Day® page to learn more & register.
