Join us for a conversation about disability art activism and institutional critique featuring Dr. Amanda Cachia and Dr. Syrus Marcus Ware. Dr. Cachia is an art historian and curator who works as Assistant Professor at the University of Houston. Her publications include the forthcoming monograph The Agency of Access: Contemporary Disability Art and Institutional Critique (2024) and the edited collection Curating Access: Disability Art Activism and Creative Accommodation (2022). Dr. Syrus Marcus Ware is a visual artist, activist, curator, and educator who works as Assistant Professor at McMaster University. Part of the PDA (Performance Disability Art) Collective, his work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States.
This event is the third in a series of conversations in the Faculty of Information & Media Studies aimed at bringing scholars, activists and practitioners together to consider issues and topics around accessibility and disability.
