Abstract: In Sudan Media Makers: Writings from the Diaspora, Mohamed Satti traced the lives and writings of six prominent Sudanese media personalities in the diaspora. Of particular importance was to outline the role they play in projecting Sudan to the outside world through their work. The media makers include a political cartoonist, a novelist and a journalist. The book covers two main themes: challenges faced by the media makers in their writings about Sudan and brain drain, a problem facing many developing countries. To date, this is the only book written in English that highlights the works of Sudanese media personalities. Mohamed Satti is an associate professor of management communications at the Ivey Business School. He received his PhD from the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University.
