"Silent No More: A virtual tour of the former Mohawk Institute Indian Residential School"

Join us on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for this special screening and conversation.

All are welcome to attend.

The film screening will be followed by conversation between filmmaker/professor Sally Kewayosh and her collaborators. A reception will be held after the event.

Description:

The former Mohawk Institute Residential School (Mush Hole) was the longest operating residential school in Canada. A building created to destroy Indigenous identity and heritage is now the home of the Woodland Cultural Centre, a site dedicated to the revitalization of Hodinohsho:ni cultures and languages.

“Residential School is the only school you’re considered a survivor and not a graduate.” Beau Miller, 2022 (Mohawk Institute Survivor).

- From the Woodland Cultural Centre press release.

Co-sponsored by FIMS and the Deans of Western University, and in collaboration with Woodland Cultural Centre.
