Fieldnotes Graduate Speaker Series

This week’s speaker is Fourth-Year PhD Student Megan McLennan. Her talk, titled “Cry Hard: The Multiplicitous Masculinities of John McTiernan’s Die Hard (1988)” explores the various depictions of masculinity in relation to the genre of the action film, the Regan administration, and the myth of an ideal manhood.

If the talk sounds interesting, please come and engage with Megan's ideas. We’re excited to discuss questions of masculinity and of what makes (or doesn’t make) Die Hard a Christmas movie.

This will be the last session of Fieldnotes before the winter break so we encourage all to come out!
