Oncology Grand Rounds: Drs. Rob Barnett & Kevin Jordan

Join the Department of Oncology for Drs. Rob Barnett and Kevin Jordan's presentation "Quality Assurance Tools for 4D Radiation Therapy."

Drs. Rob Barnett and Kevin Jordan will be discussing how to understand unique challenges of accurately delivering a prescribed dose of therapeutic radiation to a moving tumor volume within a patient, how to gain an understanding of 'intergral dose' applied to patient-specific breathing patterns and the potentially negative impact of motion on prescribed dose and dose to surrounding healthy tissue, how to gain an understanding of the practicality and accuracy of using radiochromic gels and optical CT for 3D and 4D radiation dosimetry, and will provide an overview of performance of radiochromic gels and optical computed tomography for measuring 3D dose from small, moving radiation beams.
