An Afternoon with Cameron Bailey
Room: Conron Hall
An Afternoon with Cameron Bailey (BA'87, LLD'18), the 2023 Robert and Patricia Duncanson Lecture, held on Western Day.
Each year, the Faculty of Arts & Humanities invites a scholar or artist to give the Robert and Patricia Duncanson Lecture as part of the Speaker’s Series in the School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities (SASAH).
This Western Day, join us for the Robert and Patricia Duncanson Lecture featuring Cameron Bailey, CEO, Toronto International Film Festival. This is a hybrid event that can be attended in person at Conron Hall or online.
Few people understand the importance of the arts and cultural sector better than Cameron Bailey. The CEO of one of the world’s biggest and most important film festivals, he is responsible for leading the Toronto International Film Festival’s (TIFF) vision, as well as maintaining relationships with the Canadian and international film industries. Bailey brings a comprehensive wealth of experience to his position, and under his lead the festival has continued to grow in size and significance every year.
In this talk, Cameron will use unique perspective to tie the importance of humanities scholarship and cultural engagement to a meaningful search for ways to exert a positive influence.
Following Cameron's talk, a reception will be held in the rooms adjoining Conron Hall.
